Crushed Glass & Resin Art
Everything you need to know to turn your kit into a finished piece. Read it through once before you start — it takes two minutes and makes the whole thing easier.
What is crushed glass & resin art?
Crushed Glass & Resin Art is a beautiful craft that transforms tumbled, colored glass pieces into stunning faux stained glass. You'll arrange colored glass inside a wooden frame, then pour a clear resin over it — no kiln or oven required. After a 24-hour cure, you'll have a gorgeous, display-ready piece of art.
What's in your kit
- 1 stained wood cut-out — the shaped frame that holds your design.
- 6 different crushed glass colors — tumbled stained glass.
- 1 part A and 1 part B resin container — the two-part clear coating that seals and hardens your design.
- 1 single-sided adhesive sheet — this is what your frame sticks to while you work.
- 1 pair of gloves.
- A plastic spoon and a mixing cup.
Before you begin
A few things to have ready before you start:
- Ventilation — work in a well-ventilated space, such as near an open window or outdoors.
- Flat surface — find a perfectly level table or countertop so the resin won't run or pool.
- Your gloves on — they're in the kit. Protect your hands from the resin and keep them on throughout the project.
Step-by-step instructions
Prepare your workspace
Place your wooden frame onto the plastic adhesive sheet, sticky side up, and lay it on a flat, level surface. Press down on the wooden frame for 60 seconds, making sure it is well stuck to the adhesive.
Arrange the glass
Using a spoon, pour and arrange the crushed stained-glass pieces inside the frame. Fill in the desired areas, mixing colors to create your design. Get creative — try patterns, scenes, or even place small personal items in the glass.
Mix & pour the resin
Mix the resin by pouring parts A & B equally into the plastic cup provided. Stir for 4 minutes. Using a spoon, slowly and carefully drizzle the resin over the glass inside the frame.
Spread & fill gaps
Use the back side of a spoon or a gloved finger to gently spread the resin, ensuring it fills all the gaps between the glass pieces for an even, smooth finish.
Let it cure
Leave your project undisturbed on the flat surface for 24 hours. Keep it in a dust-free area while it cures.
Display your art
Once fully cured, carefully peel the adhesive off the back side of your piece and it will be ready to display. Hang it in a sunny window to let the light shine through your beautiful faux stained-glass creation.
Stir for the full 4 minutes. This is the one step people rush. Under-stirred resin can stay tacky instead of curing hard. Scrape the sides and the bottom of the cup while you stir.
